If you’re a girl traveler traveling alone, of even if you’re in a group, you should be aware of some things that’ll keep you safe. For a Western woman, it may not sound like too much of a big deal that you’re traveling alone, but there are some countries where this is still a big deal. Of course it shouldn’t keep you from doing anything, but you should still keep this in mind and be careful about avoiding some issues.
Whether you’ve got one of those cheap travel deals or you’re going on an expensive travel agency package, the risks are pretty much the same. An advice that works at keeping strange men at bay is wearing a fake ring. Pretending to be married or committed to a man will keep 90% of the perverts away.
The best advice we can give you is keep a low profile. Avoid walking alone, of course, and if you have to keep to well lit areas. Don’t be loud or attract attention towards you, be it by showing a lot of money or expensive electronics or by wearing flashy clothes. Other than that, use your common sense and follow your sixth sense when it comes to danger.
