Dogs in cars
Taking your dog with you on a car trip is something that you need to take special care of. Your dog may be the most well behaved dog in the world but he still might be stressed and act differently when in a car. For us, travelling by car is something that’s completely normal and not at all worthy of a second thought. We can drive just about anywhere and in just about any weather conditions. But for a dog the car is a strange medium and he might be stressed if he has to spend large periods of time in it. And there’s also the matter of legality to take into account. The law states that dogs must be well conditioned inside the car, meaning you can’t just have them loose in the backseat, and especially not in the front seat.
Dog cages are probably the best solution for a dog that’s not used to being in the car. It’s a confined space, which dogs love, and you can throw a blanket and a toy that the dog likes so he can feel safe and at home. It’s a perfectly humane solution that’s also safer for the driver since it confines the dog and reduces distractions caused by the dog.
